This message is very important for the residents of Lockhart that live in the area that the new sewer and water lines are going in. That would be between N.1st to N. 5th, Lockhart Drive. to Summit Drive.
If you remember, last summer a few of us from the council came to your house and had you fill out a certification of income eligibility, we received a grant to help pay for these lines to be put in. Now the government is requiring us to do this again, so if you want to see if you are eligible, and don’t want to pay out of your pocket, please contact the town hall, and all it will require is to answer a couple of questions and your signature.
We are sorry for any inconvenience, but we are just trying to save you money. You know we just can’t control government, they have the privilege to change their minds any time they want to.
Old Mill Parking Lot
Now for the mess in the old mill parking lot. My understanding is this project will be done in January, so then they should start cleaning up then and leaving it as it used to be.
An Unforgettable Christmas
Sign in department store: “Make this a Christmas he won’t forget — charge everything.”
Rev. Donna Eidson held an open house last Saturday at her home, ( the Methodist Parsonage). I had every intention of attending after I got out of work, but didn’t make it. I hope everyone else enjoyed it.
The women of Wesley Chapel spent four days at Pigeon Forge, they left on Tuesday and came back on Thursday. By the looks of all the parked cars in the preacher’s yard, I’d say quite a few went.
Lockhart Fire Department had their Christmas party Monday night. Fireman of the Year was a tie between Rodney Inman and Toby Childers. Bo Belue received the J.W.Sullivan Award. Congratulations to all of you. I’m glad to know we have dedicated volunteers in our fire department.
My sympathy goes out to Edna Mitchell Black’s family. She was more than a customer, when she walked in the shop, she would involve everybody in her teasing. She would always tell me that she wasn’t getting out of my chair until I did a perfect job on her head. I then would always tell her that I would do a perfect job just to get her out! We just always had a great time. She is sincerely missed by everyone in here.
My sympathy to Joyce, Mike, and family for the loss of Mike’s father, Van Parris. Van was always building houses or remodeling buildings, etc., just always a busy man.
My sympathy to Timmy Porter and Mandie Sweat for loss of mother and aunt, Peggy Porter Ponder.
At The Chiropractor
I went to the chiropractor (Dr. Bridgett Sherman) today to take a Christmas gift, and thought, what the heck! I haven’t had one of her treatments in quite awhile. You know she cured all of my ailments in the past.
Well when I laid down on the rolling pin bed with the heat on my back, I said AAH! Oh it hit all the places I didn’t know was sore, we all need these table beds in our houses.
Secret: A couple of men on the other beds were so comfortable that they started snoring, now is that comfort?
Well anyway, I found a sore spot for her to work on, she has wonder fingers. I watched one man that couldn’t hardly get up, and when he left, he was walking pretty spry. Well anyway, it was nice to see all of them, they make you feel like family.
Well, all of you are wondering what happened to my stories of Chuck. He’s working 12-hour shifts and so he’s too tired to get into his usual trouble. But he does carry on with junk at Dollar General with the girls. They keep me informed.
Are you all ready for Christmas? I’m ahead of myself. Trees up, presents bought, not wrapped, and just half-decided what we’ll cook and haven’t yet bought groceries. Hospice gifts collected and delivered. I passed out a few gifts to some special people already, I know it’s early, but I’d hate to forget anybody. Need to make out cards and send them to family members in Michigan, so they can say Connie Who? But it’s hard to find the time and I can’t seem to find all my addresses, since I’m not organized in anything I do.
Bad Gift List
My daughter has been wanting me to start a very bad gift list. She said it would be interesting to find out what bad gift any of you might have gotten. If you tell me, I will put it in my article but not put your name. Don’t you think that would be fun?
I’ll tell hers: About 10 years ago she got a pack of socks, but what was so bad about it was a pair was taken out. Someone she e-mails to said the same thing happened to him, too.
Close to Christmas, I arrived at the babysitter’s one day to pick up my five year old daughter, only to learn that she had been bouncing on the furniture and had broken the coffee table.
She seemed remorseful on the way home and asked me, “Will Santa Claus know?”
I said , “I didn’t think so.”
“Will God know?” she then asked.
“God knows everything,” I replied.
She thought for a moment, then asked, “Does God know Santa Claus?”
Well I need to close and say good night, maybe next time I’ll more news. 545-6652
