JONESVILLE – Jonesville Middle School played host to Landrum on Thursday and suffered losses in both girls and boys contests.
The Lady Wildcats fell 18-4 with Jada Hill and Rye Ray contributing Jonesville’s only baskets.
“We need to work on boxing out, handling pressure and we have to shoot,” said Jonesville Coach Lashon Rogers. “We have some girls that can shoot but they won’t do it. We have just one eighth-grader, the rest are seventh-graders so we’re still learning.”
In boys action, Landrum slipped past the Wildcats, 21-15, in a defensive battle. Jonesville was held to just two points in each of the first two quarters and its late surge was not enough to mount a comeback.
Both teams will face Mabry at home Monday with the girls tipping off at 5 p.m. and the boys game following.
