The Union County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the following incidents:

Burglaries

Four burglaries are under investigation by the sheriff’s office.

• A deputy was dispatched Nov. 28 to 103 Wallace Drive in Union in reference to a possible burglary. The victim told the deputy that sometime between 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. someone took 42-inch Sony TV and Android touchscreen tablet from his residence. The items had combined value of $1,450. The victim told the deputy that there was no sign of forced entry into his home and that his door was locked when he got home.

• A deputy was dispatched Nov. 27 to 967 Phillip Church Road in the Adamsburg community. The victim told the deputy that sometime between 9:30 p.m. the previous night and 7:15 a.m. that morning someone broke a window at the front of his house and entered the building. The victim said the only thing that he was certain was missing was a firearm. The item was valued at $450.

• A Jonesville man contacted the sheriff’s office and reported that between 5:30 p.m. Nov. 20 and 2:30 p.m. Nov. 21 someone cut the screen on his front porch to open the screen door and took his wood burning heater. The victim described the heater as round, black, made of wire mesh with a pipe coming out of the middle. He estimated its value at $300.

The victim said there were tire marks in his yard where it appeared someone had pulled up to the porch and took the heater.

• A deputy met Nov. 27 with a man who said that someone used a crowbar to enter through the back wall of a building at 178 Raymond Road in Union. The man said the break-in occurred between Nov. 16 and 4:50 p.m. that evening. He said the only thing he was sure had been taken was a silver box containing family items. The stolen items were valued at $100.

Vandalisms

The sheriff’s office is investigating two acts of vandalism.

• On Nov. 28, a deputy met with a Union man who said his beige 2003 Toyota Camry was scratched with some type of object while parked at 227 Mill St. in Union. The man said all areas of the vehicle had been scratched causing $900 damage to the paint.

• The owner of a trailer at 1001 Jones Ford Road in Union reported Nov. 26 that sometime during the month holes had been put in the walls of the structure causing $200 worth of damage.
