UNION — A restaurant, a home care service, a state agency, and the National Guard are among the newest members of the Union County Chamber of Commerce.
Torance Inman, chamber executive director, announced this week that Young Office Supply, the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department, Ambassador Personnel, Home Helpers of Spartanburg, the S.C. Army National Guard, and Cherry Blossom Asian Cuisine have joined the chamber.
Inman recently presented membership plaques to the owners, staff or representatives of Cherry Blossom Asian Cuisine, Home Helpers of Spartanburg, South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department, and the S.C. Army National Guard. He said plaques will be presented to Young Office Supply and Ambassador Personnel at a later date.
With the new members, the chamber’s membership now stands at approximately 230.
“It’s encouraging that we continue to attract new members from a very diverse group of businesses,” Inman said Friday. “Each of them has researched the chamber and realized the benefits of chamber membership.
“The chamber offers its members information related to doing business in Union County including statistics, demographics, availability of property and other resources,” he said. “In addition, the chamber offers networking opportunities through Business After Hours and information about other opportunities such as Human Resources Association as well other events that take place in the City of Union and throughout the county.”
Cherry Blossom Asian Cuisine is located at 441 N. Duncan Bypass, Suite #12, Union, while the S.C. Army National Guard is located at 165 Industrial Park Road, Union, and the S.C. Vocational Rehabilitation Department is located 353 S. Church St., Union. Home Helpers of Spartanburg, however, is located 1855 E. Main St., Suite #14 and #134, Spartanburg.
Inman said chamber membership is not only open to businesses and other organizations in Union County but to those in adjoining counties that do business here.
“Membership is open to businesses from outside the county if they do business here,” Inman said. “If it is a retail business or service group or a financial agency or non-profit organization located outside the county that does business here they can join the chamber.”
Inman said at least 20 percent of the chamber members are located outside Union County.
