On Friday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m., the South Carolina Baptist Congress of Christian Education met at Brookland Baptist Church, Columbia for the 12th Annual Awards Banquet. President Dr. Bryant S. FAIRFOREST BAPTIST CHURCH RELAY FOR LIFE TEAM will hold a yard sale at the church starting at 7 a.m. Hot dogs will be sold.

NOVEMBER 18

THE SENIOR USHER BOARD OF ST. LUKE BAPTIST CHURCH in Buffalo will celebrate its anniversary at 2 p.m. The Rev. James Owens of Lincolnville Baptist Church in Chester, will be the guest speaker. The Rev. George W. Shell Jr. is pastor.

FLINT HILL BAPTIST CHURCH OF WHITMIRE will honor their pastor, Rev. James E. Farr Jr. with a seventh anniversary program at 2:30 p.m. The speaker will be Rev. W.B. Ellis of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Newberry. Everyone is cordially invited to attend.

RICE CHAPEL AME ZION CHURCH will have its Missionary Program at 3 p.m. The speaker will be Minister Eva Thompson of the House of Reconciliation Church in Union. We are looking forward to making a joyful noise in the house of the Lord.

NOVEMBER 21

OAKBROOK COMMUNITY CHURCH, 540 Alman St., Jonesville, will have a Community Thanksgiving Service at 7 p.m. Child care will be available.

NOVEMBER 22

OAKBROOK COMMUNITY CHURCH will provide a community Thanksgiving meal on Thanksgiving Day from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The meal will be served at the church which is located at 580 Alman St. in Jonesville. Eat in or carry out.

NOVEMBER 29

AUGSBURG LUTHERAN CHURCH will have a spaghetti supper from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, garlic bread, drink and dessert will be served.

DECEMBER 1

PARADISE A.M.E. SIMPLY BLESSED GOSPEL CHOIR will celebrate its second annual “Share the Gift of Christmas” Gospel Fest at 4 p.m. Come and help us celebrate the real meaning of Christmas. Please come as you are, this event is casual attire. Rev. Joseph Brown Jr., Pastor.

DECEMBER 2

COMMUNITY MISSIONARY CHURCH, 2230 Lockhart Highway, will celebrate its 10-year church anniversary and its pastoral anniversary at 4 p.m. The guest speaker will be Pastor John Wilks of Mt. View Baptist Church in Campobello. Dinner will be served before the service.

MORNINGSIDE BAPTIST CHURCH will have its Christmas Presentation “Changed By A Baby Boy” at 6 p.m.

DECEMBER 8

ST. PAUL’S BAPTIST CHURCH will sponsor a trip to see the play “The Man Called Jesus.” For more information call 426-7790 or 427-0116.

JANUARY 6

RICE CHAPEL AME ZION CHURCH will celebrate Family and Friends Day at 3 p.m. The speaker will be Rev. J.B. Robinson, pastor of Saint Matthew AME Zion Church of Whitmire. We are looking forward to make a joyful noise in the name of the Lord.

RICE CHAPEL AME ZION CHURCH will hold its Usher’s Program at 3 p.m. The speaker will be Minister Eva Thompson from the House of Reconciliation Church in Union. We look forward to you joining us to make a joyful noise in the house of the Lord.

A MOMS IN PRAYER group is now meeting on Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m. in the Family Ministry Center of Bethel United Methodist Church, 1705 Lockhart Highway. All interested persons are invited to participate.

THE MISSIONARY AUXILIARY OF THE PACOLET RIVER BAPTIST ASSOCIATION has opened an Emergency Food Pantry in the rear (annex) of the town hall in Jonesville. The pantry is open Friday from 9:30 a.m. to noon and other times by calling the numbers posted on the sign at the entrance of the annex. Please bring identification and proof residence. Rev.
