Walk to School Winners — First Place

Mrs. Bates’ first grade class (pictured) was the first place trophy winner for this year’s Walk to School Event at Foster Park Elementary School. Ms. Ruff’s second grade class at Foster Park Elementary School was the second place winner for this year’s event. They received the second place trophy. Each year, Foster Park Elementary participates in the National Walk to School Day by walking two laps around Veterans Park. The class having the most parents or relatives walk with them, wins the trophy. Mrs. Bates’ class had 21 visitors for the event and Ms. Ruff’s class had 15. Each class proudly displays its banner as they walk around the park. Pictured with each class is Coach Rocky Cooper, PE teacher at Foster Park. He coordinated the event and presented the trophies.
