UNION — Thanks to the volunteers of Wallace Thomson Hospital, a new service is available to patients.

Hospital volunteers have bought a golf cart for the purpose of assisting Wallace Thomson patients and visitors by providing a service of transportation to the hospital from the lower parking lots. As a result, on Nov. 1, the hospital launched a golf cart service which will operate from 6:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. each weekday.

This will allow those who are unable climb stairs or walk long distances to avoid doing so.

“We are thankful that the auxiliary is able to provide for us such a wonderful customer service program,” said Union Hospital District CEO Tim Merritt.
