Despite an improved collective effort, the Union County JV volleyball team fell to Clinton on Thursday.

Scores were 22-25 and 18-25.

Stats

Rakendra Jeter — one ace, Dynia Davis — four kills, Micaela Solis — four assists and one kill. Caitlin Grant — two assists, Cara Phillips — three aces and two kills, Mary Scarborough — good passes to setter.

The JV Jackets will play their last game at home against Chester on Tuesday, Oct 16 at 5:30.

Tennis

The Union County tennis team came up short against Clinton on Thursday, 5-1. With the win, the Red Devils advance to first in the region.

“We changed some things around to try to get the win against an experienced Clinton team,” said Union County Coach Kelly Jenkins. “Abby Allen got a big win in singles. She went to a third set with Gambrell last time they played, but Abby really took it to her tonight. We played well in other spots, but we couldn’t get the wins tonight. Caroline Moss played her best match of the season and Reid Bailey continues to improve each time out as well.”
