The Union County JV girls volleyball team lost two games each to Broome and Woodruff this past week.

Broome

Sherry Jackson, Union County High School JV volleyball coach said the scores in the games against Woodrull were 20-25 and 17-25.

“We lost both games to Broome, but we were winning during both games for a while,” Jackson said. “We were playing much better. Our serves were going in and that made the biggest difference. Our problem today was too many unforced playing errors.”

Cara Phillips had five aces while Sydney Gregory had an ace. Macy Scarborough had five kills while Paige Foster had a kill. Caitlin Grant had two aces and three assists while Micaela Solis had four assists. Dynia Davis had two kills and Rakendra Jeter had a dig.

Woodruff

Jackson said the scores in the game against Woodruff were 14-25 and 19-25

“We had seven serving errors the first game,” Jackson said. “We got way behind and could not catch back up. The second game was much better at first. We were leading 16 to 15 and then began making lots of playing errors. As a team, we have got to anticipate better than we are doing. We tend to be out of position on our hitting opportunities.

Dynia Davis had two kills while Micaela Solis had an ace and three assists. Caitlin Grant had two aces and two assists while Macy Scarborough had two aces and three kills, and Cara Phillips had an ace.

Union County travels to Chapman on Tuesday and hosts Broome at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
