SPARTANBURG — The Union County cross country team has competed in two meets so far this season and Head Coach Stewart Wagner is pleased with the progress his team has shown.
“Both the girls and boys teams have run well,” said Wagner. “I look for them to continue to improve over the course of the season.”
The Eye Opener was held at Milliken Research Center in Spartanburg on Saturday, Sept. 1 and was Union County’s first meet of 2012.
Hydia Green was the top finisher among the Lady Jackets and 25th overall out of 207 competitors with a time of 22:52.
The Jackets hit the road for the second Saturday in a row this past weekend to participate in the Coaches Classic at Sandhills Research Park in Columbia. Green was again the best female finisher for Union County with a time of 22:21 to place 65th overall among 338 entrants.
