Sis had purchased a new lawn mower from Jeffery Gault and decided to put her old one on the side of the road for sale.

Our new preacher, Rev. Glenn Ribelin had just moved into his new home at the parsonage and was in need of a lawn mower. He came by to try to start the lawn mower; he pulled the rope and pulled the rope until he was sweating.

Sis said to the nice reverend, “Preacher, in order to start that lawn mower you might have to use some curse words.”

Rev. Glenn told Sis, “Ma’am, I am a man of the cloth, it has been a long time since I used curse words, I really forgot how to use curse words.”

Sis said, “You keep pulling that rope it will all come back to you real soon.”

Special Occasion

Mr. Ralph Harris over in Cherokee County offers this quote by Mary M. Morrissey: Start living now, stop saving the good china for that special occasion, stop withholding your love until that special person materializes. Every day you are alive is a special occasion.

Strange Cure

My friend, Mr. C.W. Garner is getting over a severe case of colamodgus. He got some relief when I told him to try some castor oil, wine and jello, it works every time.

Good Food

Have you tried the cantaloupes at Levis Longshores? They are delicious and reasonable priced to boot.

Tell Mr. Levi that I sent you. His produce market is on the Whitmire Highway.

Pasty Bobo said he has the best tomatoes around.

Fact

Did you know that on Sept. 11 the Trade Towers was taken down by airplanes?

Now you know, the year was 2001.

Sympathy

Our sincere sympathy to the Family of Mr. Eulis “Hoot” Gibson. I have known Mr. Gibson and his family a long time. He is at rest now, in Heaven.

An Eternal Question

Harold Lloyd Guitar Thompson called to ask me why the girls get better looking at closing time? Dang if I know.

An Idea

Christian Lawson, 3 1/2 years old, and his great-grandmother (Brenda Lawson) was watching it rain the other day when Christian said to her “Look, I can count seven mud holes, let me get my boots.” Out of the mouths of babes.

“The Lizard Man”

Let me tell y’all this, you folks on the upper end of Pea Ridge should be on the lookout for a creature that has been nicknamed “The Lizard Man.” He has been spotted in homes eating off of the table and even takes food and blankets in the woods.

Don’t try to capture the “Lizard Man” if you spot him, take a picture. I am trying hard to get a picture of him.

Interesting Sign

Sign in a downtown restaurant in Union, No Smoking on Sundays. Now … do what?
