UNION — The Union County Health Care Foundation has announced plans for its captain’s choice Fall Charity Golf Classic.
The day of golfing and giveaways is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 5 at Woodfin Ridge Golf Club in Inman.
Union County Health Care Foundation Executive Director Catherine Childers said the golf classic will also feature a putting competition which has proven very popular in previous tournaments. Cash prizes for the putting competition are paid on the spot.
For the success of the event and the enjoyment of the participants, the tournament field is limited to approximately 24 teams. Entrance fees are $75 per player or $260 per team. The deadline for registration is Sept. 28. Corporate sponsorships for the tournament are also available.
Childers said the foundation is grateful for past sponsorships and support, and she hopes those who have participated in years past will continue to do so.
“The foundation’s work is never done,” Childers said. “Our current project is to fund a Cardiovascular Diagnostic Stress Testing System for the Radiology Department of Wallace Thomson Hospital.”
The system will measure the heart’s ability to respond to external stress in a controlled clinical environment.
