Mrs. Moorman was born in Union County May 18, 1941, a daughter of the late George and Irene Means Johnson. She was a dedicated member of McBeth Baptist Church where she served on the usher board and the choir. She was a retired textile worker.
Survivors include four daughters, Audrey (Michael) Guinn, Teresa (Donald) Hayes, Carolyn (Amos) Miller all of Union; Barbara Wilson (R.B. Boyd) of Sharon; two sons, Donald (Cathy) Moorman of Gaffney, LeRoy (Mary) Moorman of Spartanburg; five brothers, James (Kat) Johnson of Union, Henry (Patricia Ann) Johnson of Spartanburg, Johnny (Brenda) Johnson of Baltimore, Md., and Lester (Carolyn) Johnson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Leon Sawter of Union; four sisters-in-law, Evanglist Geneva Joyner of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mary H. Johnson, Janie Mae (John) Means, Queen (Donald) Stevens all of Union; one brother-in-law, Jesse J. (Georgia) Moorman of Union, 18 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a special friend Chasity Gray of York and cousin Brittany Nash of Union; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 1, 2009, at McBeth Baptist Church with the Rev. Freddie L. Wicker Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends and a viewing at the home of a daughter, Barbara Wilson, 4039 Craig Road, Sharon, after 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009.
