Without the Daily Times running our announcement and Anna Brown’s article on Elisabeth we would not have been able to reach the community in such a large manner. Without the promotion in the area churches, we could not have had such a huge blessing. Without Mike Stevens and WBCU being so gracious in doing the public service announcements, we would not have packed our sanctuary. And as always, the arts council helped us to get the word out about a world renowned performer coming to our town.
I also thank Ronnie Lybrand, Charles Baldwin and Chris Ketterman for coming to unload and set up the equipment and staying late to tear down and reload the equipment that Elisabeth brought with her. They make good roadies if you ever need them. I would also like to thank the ladies from Duncan Acres UMC who provided the meal for Elisabeth and her husband, Ed Hall, especially June Cohen, who coordinated the meal and made sure it was on time and hot.
And finally, I want to thank Elisabeth von Trapp and Ed Hall for being willing to come to a small town like Union for only what the people were willing to give in a love offering. They stepped out in faith that God would provide for them as they service Him in this ministry. We need more people like them in these days of uncertainty and what lies in the future.
