JONESVILLE — Mr. Carl E. Pollard, Sr., husband of Mrs. Ruby Glenn Pollard, 156 Wheatfield Road, Jonesville, SC, died Aug. 23, 2012 at his home.

Born in Washington, D.C., Aug. 9, 1938, a son of the late William and Lillie Wright Pollard.

Mr. Pollard was a member of Foster Chapel United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the St. James Masonic Lodge #4 in Atlanta, GA., and the Nabbar Temple #128 in Atlanta, Ga. Mr. Pollard had been employed as a Rail Operator and Bus Driver with MARTA in Atlanta, Ga.

Survivors in addition to his wife of 54 years are three sons, Eugene Pollard Jr. (Patricia) of Bassett, Virginia, Gary Pollard (Jacqueline) of Hiram, Ga., Joshua Reece of Ohio; two daughters, Sharon Garner (George), Karen Treakle (Bruce), all of Arlington, Virginia; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012 at Foster Chapel United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Glenn Ribelin officiating. Interment will follow at Mark Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Viewing will be held Monday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Lewis Funeral Home.

The family is at the home, 156 Wheatfield Road, Jonesville, SC 29353.
