Maybe you have seen one of Victory’s or another church’s gospel tract lying around somewhere that on the cover it says, God’s Plan of Salvation, and it gives clear scripture concerning sin and salvation. These are a wonderful way to get the word of truth into people’s hands. But I began thinking about this.

God’s plan began with a man! Now no ordinary man would do. This man was the only begotten Son of God. God sent him to this sin cursed world to do what no one else could so that you and I can become reconciled to God. You see what separated us from God was our sin. Jesus, God’s “Man of Salvation,” paid that debt in full on the cross. I want to share some scripture to reveal God’s “Man of Salvation.”

To begin with, Jesus was foretold of in the past. In Isaiah 9:6, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Even before Jesus was born, God was revealing to the prophets of old His son. Then through the process of time, his day came. In Matthew 1 the angel of God appeared to Joseph in a dream and said in verses 20-21, “Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.”

I’m humbled at the fact that God loved you and me so that He sent His only begotten son into this world that whoever believes in Him will be given everlasting life. This still amazes me! Well we know Jesus was born and grew in wisdom and stature, and at the age of thirty he began preaching, teaching, healing, and even raising the dead. You may be saying, “I can’t believe a man could do all that.” Remember this is no ordinary man. This is God’s “Man of Salvation.”

Jesus had followers, those that he called, some that he healed, and many that his life touched. And with all those that loved him, he also had many that hated him. You see the Lord loves all people. He doesn’t love sin but He loves the sinner.

Some just couldn’t understand that so they plotted to kill God’s only begotten son. Their way of salvation was by works of the law and Jesus proclaimed in John 14:16, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” And for that they began a rebellion against God’s son.

What they failed to realize is that the very reason God sent His son into this world was so he could do what they couldn’t. He came not to destroy the law but to fulfill it. So they took the Lord Jesus and mocked, bruised, beat, and battered him. Then they took him up Calvary’s hill and nailed him to a cross to die for yours and my sins.

I’m glad the story doesn’t end there. You see the only way Jesus could pay our sin debt was because he had no sin. Therefore death couldn’t hold him. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” After three days in a tomb, Jesus came forth alive conquering death, Hell, and the grave. Later Jesus ascended back into Heaven and gave us a promise that he was coming back to receive his children.

Are you a child of God? A man asked a preacher named Paul, “What must I do to be saved?” Paul responded, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thy house.” Friend, today in 2012 God’s plan hasn’t changed. There is still only one way to Heaven. Acts 4:12 says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” God’s plan of salvation is still through God’s Man of Salvation. Trust Jesus today and he will save you.
