South Hills Complex has been bustling all summer with men’s church league softball and on Monday night things got a little more serious with the first round of playoff action.

Tuesday night match-ups were put on hold due to rain and tournament play is set to resume on Thursday.

In the A-League tournament, Tabernacle took a 15-7 win over First Presbyterian to advance in the winner’s bracket and are scheduled to meet Crestview, who received a bye, at 7 p.m..

West Springs also moves into Thursday’s second round with a win under its belt after sending Padgett’s Creek to the loser’s bracket in a 17-7 contest.

Mon Aetna awaits West Springs after receiving a first round bye while Padget’s Creek and First Presbyterian are set to face the losers of Thursday night’s games.

In B-League action, Bethel slipped past Morningside, 12-11 to advance in the winner’s bracket where they will meet Lakeside on Wednesday at 7 p.m. New Life also heads into the second round with a victory after upending Putman, 20-3. Buffalo received the Monday night bye along with Lakeside, and will square off with New Life on Thurssday night at 8 p.m. In the loser’s bracket, Morningside and Putman await the outcome of Thursday’s games and will fight to stay alive on Friday.

Championship games for both A and B League are slated for next Tuesday night at 8:30 p.m.
