Putman Baptist Church and West Springs Baptist Church emerged victorious in Church Softball League action earlier this week.

The games, which were held Monday at the South Hills Sports Complex, pitted Putman against Lakeside Baptist Church in Field 1 and West Springs against New Life Baptist Church in Field 2. Putman defeated Lakeside 14-8 while West Springs defeated New Life 16-5.

The Church Softball League is sponsored by the Union County Recreation Department which announced the 2012 Church League Tournament schedule on Friday.

In the A League, which will play on Field 1, Tabernacle Baptist Church will play First Presbyterian Church on Monday at 7 p.m. West Springs will play Padgett’s Creek Baptist Church at 8 p.m. The winner of the Tabernacle-First Presbyterian game will play Crestview Baptist Church on Tuesday at 7 p.m. while the winner of the West Springs-Padgett’s Creek game will play Mon-Aetna Baptist Church at 8 p.m.

In the B League, which will play on Field 2, Bethel Baptist Church will play Morningside Baptist Church on Monday at 7 p.m. New Life Baptist Church will play Putman Baptist Church at 8 p.m. The winner of the Bethel-Morningside game will play Lakeside Baptist Church on Tuesday at 7 p.m. while the winner of the New Life-Putman game will play Buffalo Baptist Church at 8 p.m.
