UNION — Mr. Paul Everett Hudson, 65, 629 Rice Avenue Ext., Apt 2B, Union, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at his home. Mr. Hudson was the widower of Mary Vinson Hudson.
Mr. Hudson was born in Laurens County, SC May 12, 1947, a son of the late Paul Leonard Hudson and Willie Barton Hudson. He retired from W.A. Sloan Construction in Fountain Inn and was a member of Padgetts Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Hudson was a loving husband, father, grandfather and was an avid dirt track racing fan.
Surviving are three daughters, Sonya Faye Lawter and husband Jeff, Marissa Hudson and finance’ Kerry Woods, all of Cross Keys, and Joan Skelton of Greenville; two stepdaughters Julie Mason of Fountain Inn and Jane Justice of Buffalo; two stepsons, Thomas Anthony of Greenville and Michael Anthony of Gaffney; a sister, Elizabeth “Sis” Morgan of Woodruff; a brother, Douglas Hudson of Belton; three grandsons, Paul Nathaniel “Nate” Lawter, Justin Tyler “Jut Jut” Lawter and Chance “Sponge Bob” Lawter; seven step-grandchildren, Amy Norris, C.J. Mason, Christa Fortner, Anthony Mason, Thomas Anthony, Jr, Jessica Steele and Travis Anthony; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hudson was predeceased by a sister, Martha Whitmire and two brothers, Bill Hudson and Rusty Hudson.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012 at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Carrol Caldwell. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be James Hudson, Steve Hudson, Jason Phillips, Jr. Hudson, Timmy Vinson and Josh Woods. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Paul “Nate” Lawter, Justin “Jut Jut” Lawter and Chance “Sponge Bob” Lawter.
Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Friday evening at the SR Holcombe Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of his daughter, Sonya and Jeff Lawter, 124 Gully Road, Cross Keys Community, Union.
