JONESVILLE — Arthur “Ham” Rice, 90, of John Hart Road, entered eternal rest Friday, July 20, 2012 at his home.
A native of Union, he was the widower of Daisy Peake Rice and the son of the late Foster and Mariah Prysock Rice.
“Big Daddy” as he was affectionately called by family was a member, deacon, and original member of the Male Choir. He was former church treasurer having served for thirty years. He was a retired supervisor from Fiske-Carter Construction Co.
Survivors include five sons, Bobby (Ruby) Peake, Arthur (Dollie) Rice, Clyde (Mary) Rice, Jackie (Gwendolyn) Rice, and Joe (Jackie) Floyd, all of Jonesville; four daughters, Shirley (Nathaniel) Nash of Union, Bernice Glenn, and Daisy (Christopher) Stewart, both of Jonesville, and Betty Rice of the home; 36 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and a host of great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Wyatt’s Chapel Baptist with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home.
