ALIQUIPPA, PA – Reverend Sims R. Good Jr. entered eternal rest on July 9, 2012 in West Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center in Coraopolis, PA. He was a resident of Aliquippa for 42 years. He was born in Union, SC where he attended Sims High School. He moved his family to the Northside of Pittsburgh, later relocating in 1969 with his family to Aliquippa.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mother Annie Mae Good, whom he was married to for 57 years. They were the parents of eight children, Ruby (Wilbert) Graham Jr., Christopher (Nancy) Good, Valerie (Jeffrey) Hicks, Tonji (Sammie) Cooper, Angel (Phillip) Pearce and Jamal Good, all of Aliquippa, Sandra Battle, Ambridge, Ruben (Brandi) Good, also a son, Robert Carpenter, Pittsburgh, and a daughter, Claudette Blot, Brookton, MS; and three brothers, Leon (Carrie) Good, Symuel Good, Union, SC, Leroy Good, Mount Vernon, NY; three sisters, Dr. Trisha Shiver of Lexington, SC; Frances Whitney of Columbia, SC and Lunette (Jesse) Glenn of Union, SC.
He was predeceased by his father, Sims R. Good Sr.; his mother, Nannie Pendergrass Good; his brother, Roosevelt Good; and two daughters, Michelle and Patricia Good.
Rev. Sims Good has 43 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and devoted friends, Elder James Gibson, Elder David Clark, Elder Michael Kirkland, Elder Emmanuel Moreland and Brother Eugene Smith.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, July 13, 2012, at the Church in the Round, Woodrow and Griffith Streets, Aliquippa, PA followed by the Homegoing service on Saturday, July 14, 2012.
