The 17th annual Uniquely Union BBQ Festival promises to be the biggest yet, and local businesses are pitching in to help.
This year’s Uniquely Union BBQ Festival is slated for Sept. 7-8 at the Union County Fairgrounds, and those involved have been working to restructure and expand activities to attract a larger audience than ever before.
The headline of the event will be the annual Uniquely Union BBQ Cook-Off, while other activities will include vendors and crafts, food, live music, Kidz Zone, Firefighters Combat Challenge, Trans-South Wrestling Fan Appreciation Night, the Miss Uniquely Union Beauty Pageant and much more.
To fund these activities and allow for admittance into the fairgrounds to be free, festival planners have asked for local businesses to contribute at one of four sponsorship levels. Several of those businesses have already responded by making donations or committing to do so.
The four levels of sponsorships are Platinum, Gold, Bronze and Trophy. The festival already has three platinum-level sponsors: Dollar General, the City of Union and WBCU Radio. A platinum level sponsorship benefits the sponsor with the following:
- business logo on all print materials; recognition on website, radio and banners;
- four meal tickets for Saturday of festival;
- booth display both days of the festival;
- proud sponsor sign;
- two festival t-shirts;
- four judging positions for the “Anything Butt” Contest;
- sponsorship recognition sign display at the festival;
- recognition as a trophy sponsor.
Four sponsors have also committed to sponsor at the gold level — Gestamp, Lockhart Power, Timken and Wells Fargo. Gold level sponsorships include the following:
- business logo on all print materials; recognition on website, radio and banners;
- two meal tickets for Saturday of festival;
- proud sponsor sign;
- two festival t-shirts;
- two judging positions for the “Anything Butt” Contest.
The festival’s bronze level sponsorship gives sponsors a business logo on the website, two meal tickets for the Saturday of the festival, one festival t-shirt and two judging positions for the “Anything Butt” contest. The trophy level sponsorship includes the business name on a contest trophy and two meal tickets for the Saturday of the festival.
