A Union man walked into a house and then ended up in jail after allegedly being found with marijuana and crack cocaine in his possession by narcotics officers waiting on him to arrive.

Joshua Jabbot Jeter, 23, 203A Richard St., Union, is charged by the Union Public Safety Department with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession of marijuana other than first offense.

The incident report states narcotics officers received information that Jeter was coming to a residence on Wilbur Street around 11 a.m. Tuesday with drugs in his possession. The officers obtained consent to enter the residence and waited for Jeter. Shortly noon, Jeter arrived at the residence in a black car accompanied by a woman. Jeter entered the building through the back door and entered the living room where he was confronted by the officers and detained.

The report states there was an odor of marijuana coming from Jeter’s person. Officers asked Jeter is he had any marijuana on him and he said he did. Jeter was then searched and the report states a quantity of marijuana and crack cocaine were found in his pockets. The drugs were seized along with $515 in cash and Jeter’s cellphone. Jeter was then placed under arrest and transported to jail.

In addition to being placed under arrest, the report states a trespass notice was issued for Jeter at the request of the resident of the house on Wilbur Street. The woman who was in the car with Jeter was taken in for questioning and later released. Jeter’s car was searched but the report states nothing was found.
