Job recruitment event Tuesday for residents

An upcoming recruitment event will provide opportunity to Union County residents in need of employment.

SC Works Union — located at 103 W. Main St. — will host a recruitment event for Ambassador Personnel on Tuesday, July 10, from 8:30-11 a.m.

Open positions are heat-treat operator and grinder (level four). In order to be considered for employment, applicants must meet certain criteria.

Those applying for the position of heat-treat operator must be able to work in a hot environment. Employees will be required to set up, operate or tend heating equipment such as heat-treating furnaces, flame-hardening machines, induction machines, soaking pits or vacuum equipment to temper, harden, anneal or heat-treat metal objects. At least six months of experience is also required.

Those applying for the position of grinder must possess the ability to use calipers, micrometers and other measuring devices. The job involves work with very strict tolerances and using power equipment to achieve such tolerances. An ideal candidate would have at least six months prior experience in a manufacturing environment using these measuring tools.
