WHITMIRE — A busy festival weekend in Whitmire drew more than 60 former Whitmire High School athletes to play in the annual Wolverine Classic Golf Tournament at The Whitmire Golf Course on Saturday, June 9.
Local residents were joined by former residents from several states away who made the journey back to Whitmire to enjoy a reunion with former classmates, teammates and former coaches on the fairways. Post tournament fun and music attracted the golfers and their families to Main Street for The 25th Annual Party In The Pines Festival.
The Wolverine Classic is co-hosted by The Whitmire Golf Association. The fund raiser tournament accepts donations and sponsorships as well as entry fees. The proceeds benefit the Whitmire Athletic Booster Club.
