A long-time member of the Union business community that now operates under a new name and with a new approach to serving its customers is now the newest member of the Union County Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber Executive Director Torance Inman announced Thursday that Dellinger Equipment Company had joined the chamber. Inman said the company, formerly known as Owens Lawn and Garden, places a great emphasis on and has great enthusiasm for customer service. He said that the enthusiasm is tangible when you walk into the store and that he hopes the store’s emphasis on service to the community will set an example for the rest of the chamber.
“We appreciate Dellinger Equipment Company becoming part of the chamber,” Inman said. “We look forward to the enthusiasm that they bring to the table.
“When you walk in the door there’s an air that you feel welcome, well-received and they are anxious to serve you the customer,” he said. “The style in which they present is one that we can all use as an example and I hope their enthusiasm spills over not only to this office but to our board members and to other chamber members as well. They are an exciting group of people.”
Located at 409 Union Boulevard, the store, which for nearly 40 years operated as Owens Lawn and Garden, was acquired by Jeff Dellinger in April 2010. Dellinger retained the old name until January of this year when he changed it to Dellinger Equipment Company to reflect the changes he’d made since acquiring the store. Those changes include increasing the size of the staff from three full-time employees to six full-time and two part-time employees; the remodeling of the store and revamping of the parts department; an increased inventory with diversified product lines that includes homemade furniture and Holland gas grills; and the implementation of a low price guarantee policy. The store has also increased its presence on the Internet and is shipping products to customers across the nation.
“Dellinger Equipment Company is proud to be a member of the Chamber of Commerce,” Dellinger said in accepting his membership plaque. “We have made many changes and will continue to improve our quality of service and customer service relations. In appreciation to our most loyal local customers we have developed a Loyal Customer Program to give back to our customers in the community. This program offers great deals and discounts with a low price guarantee when you purchase your lawn care equipment from Dellinger Equipment Company. We will match or beat any other dealer’s price on the same equipment that we offer in our store. We also honor our military with a 10 percent discount on all equipment and parts, show your military ID and save.”
