A Union man ended up in jail after he allegedly knocked a woman down and then hit her.

Matthew David Arnold, 31, 1107 W. Main St., Union, is charbed by the Union Public Safety Department with criminal domestic violence.

The incident report states an officer was called to Arnold’s residence on the morning of June 8 in reference to domestic incident involving an assault. The victim told the officer that she and a witness were in the residence when Arnold got home. The woman said Arnold was loud, boisterous and intoxicated. She said she did not know why he was acting that way, but that he shoved her several times, knocking her down.

The witness said that while the victim was down Arnold struck her in the head and face.

The victim said she’d never seen this side of Arnold and it scared her.

The report states the officer had noticed a man going into the house when he’d driven up. After hearing from the victim and the witness, the responding officer and two other officers went into the residence to find Arnold. The report states Arnold had slipped out the back door and ran.

A K-9 Unit with the Union County Sheriff’s Office was called in to track down Arnold. The report states the dog picked up Arnold’s trail at the back of the residence and followed to the back of the old Quincy’s restaurant. Arnold was then taken into custody and transported to jail.

Jeffery Kyle Roberts, 22, 193 Neal Shoals Road, Union, charged Wednesday with disorderly conduct.

Ernest Lee Rogers, 57, 112 Woodrow St., Union, charged Wednesday with disorderly conduct.

Dezmond Tobias Tucker, 17, 228 S. Boyce St., Union, charged Wednesday with trespassing.

Walter Earl Glenn Jr., 22, 106 Woodson Drive, Union, charged Wednesday with trespassing.

James Leshawn Napper, 27, 335 Guernsey Lane, Spartanburg, charged Wednesday with habitual traffic offender and driving under suspension.

Courtney Lynn Boulware, 25, 193 Carem Road, Union, charged June 9 with disorderly conduct and open container.

Quintin Deauntrey Dillard, 21, 302 Lawson Avenue, Union, charged Monday with two counts of disorderly conduct.

Jimmy Leon Lott, 51, 202 Pinetree Lane, Union, charged June 9 with driving under suspension.

Barry Lamar Reardon Jr., 45, 237 Mt. Tabor Church Road, Union, charged June 9 with driving under the influence.

Christopher Allen Grier, 24, 406 W. Main St., Union, charged June 9 with malicious damage.

Justin Taylor Rogers, 21, 309 Batesview Drive, Travelers Rest, charged Thursday with disorderly conduct.

A 16-year-old juvenile charged Thursday with disorderly conduct.

A 15-year-old juvenile charged Thursday with disorderly conduct.

Robert Edward Smith, 46, 132 Callahan Road, Union, charged Thursday with disorderly conduct.

Jimmy Arthur Rhinehart Jr., 43, 116 Walker Heights, Union, charged Friday with disorderly conduct.

Tina Smith Lipsey, 43, 216 Raymond Road, Union, charged Thursday with driving under suspension.
