For the second year in a row, a Pre-Father’s Day Gospel Explosion Show Down is scheduled for Friday night in Jonesville.
A&T Promotions will hold the second-annual Gospel Explosion this Friday in the old Jonesville High School Auditorium at the Jonesville Municipal Complex.
Event coordinator Andre Tate said he grew up singing traditional gospel music in a quartet and he is doing what he can to keep the genre alive. Tate is from Gaffney, and he plays music weekly at Wyatt’s Chapel in Buffalo. Although Tate will not be performing at the upcoming event, he says the lineup is sure to please all who attend.
Friday’s audience will hear groups from around the Southeast including The Echoaires from Muscow, Tn., Bless-ed of Appling, Ga. and the Virginia Aires, as well as groups from around the state including the Gospel Legends of Columbia, The Gospel Originals of Aiken, Voices of Zion from Walterboro and Totally 4 Him.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the service will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available in advance at Oscar’s Clothing in Union.
