Friday was a happy day, I finally adopted my adorable 1 1/2-year-old tabby cat out. It was love at first sight, on both parts. That always makes you feel good.
Well, Baby, (that’s her name, because I’m not creative) was back with me Monday. I told her it was okay, she just went on a weekend vacation. The owner-ex had a grandbaby with an allergic reaction to a cat and being the loving person she is didn’t want to cause a discomfort to her family. I totally understand. Baby sat and looked out the window all day, and I felt guilty, I don’t know why, so I just pet her every chance I get. Someone else wanted her (after this), but she would be a barn cat. I don’t think she would survive, after being a pampered inside cat. By pampered I mean she loves to be petted and sit by people; and roll her little head all over you, and if she could talk she would say, “pet me, pet me!”
I’m thinking of having foot surgery, so I won’t be able to take care of these pets, so that’s why I’m trying to find inside loving homes, instead of the Humane Society. It seems to me that dogs are adoptable and not cats. Mine are not breeders, I always take responsibility and have had all my animals neutered. Everyone should because puppies and kittens are adorable, but they grow up and then you’re tired of them, so you put out anywhere to fend for themselves, which they have no idea how to. Or you chain them in your back yard, to ignore, when they’ve been part of your life before. Look at me, I’m lecturing, sorry! When all I’m trying to do is find good homes for my pets.
Birthdays
Happy Birthday, on June 8, to Robert Gillian; on the 11th to Chad Hooper; and on the 12th to Brooke Burgess, Dawn Hooper, and Jordan Kirby (who had girls time at the beach — hope you had a good time). On the 13th is Justin Brannon and Kaye Carter’s birthday is June 14.
Anniversaries
Happy Anniversary to Jan and Brian Stalnaker on the 14th of June, and also to Patti and Dale Inman. Patti and Dale keep the Dixie Youth Field grass mowed and always line the field for all the games, don’t they do a real good job. Sometimes we don’t think of the people that are in the background, but without them things would not be possible.
Family Fun
Scott and Brad took their family (including Mama Joyce), to Charleston to tour ships, and show the kids all the tourism sites. There is a lot to see in Charleston and of course they found a great campsite with lots of family activities. Now Brad has taken the Phillipi youths to camp for a week.
A Trip To Texas
The Turner family is looking forward to their trip to Texas soon, to see Ethan Turner graduate from the Air Force Boot Camp.
Wedding Trip
Joanne Latham flew to Florida to see her sister Janeen’s granddaughter get married. I’m sure she had a great visit with her sister while she was there. But we’ll be happy to see her when she gets back.
Injured
Carolyn Rash broke her leg in three places and had to have surgery. I hope she does well.
Back Home
Deanna Burns is home resting after her surgery. I hope everyone is waiting on her, since she’s usually the one running and waiting on everyone else.
Wanting To Come Home
Chuck’s mom, Margaret, is in the hospital this week and is wanting to come home, even though she’s not really ready. I guess she thinks Killer can take care of her, while everyone else is at work. Killer is her little dog. What do you do with a stubborn lady. Just love her and ignore what she says.
In The Dark
Well, Gina and I just got back from the movies at Sparta 16. We saw Snow White and the Huntsman. During the show, everything went black, no movie or lights in the whole place. They said the mall was in the dark also. Somewhere a transformer blew. So we waited I really don’t remember how long, maybe a half-hour. I tried to nap, but Gina kept talking. They gave everyone free passes to go and see another show of your choice when we were leaving. Well anyway, the movie was very good.
Well I’m going to close even though it’s not 3 a.m. in the morning, only 1 a.m. This is early for me. Call me at 545-6652. Good night.
