Eighth grade authors

Budding authors and artists were spotlighted Tuesday, April 24, when Union County Schools held its 10th annual District Anthology Celebration at Sims Middle School. Students from across the county were recognized for their outstanding writing and/or art work. The eighth grade artists recognized included Ann Jordan Hathcock, Alaina Inman, Anthony Gibson, Nia Smith, Tori Woody, Abby Kingsmore, Kamary Eison, Alex Robinson, and Meredith Foster.

This year’s District Anthology is entitled Plant The Seed of Creativity and Watch Your Imagination Grow! This publication is a collection of student writing and art work from every school in the district. Student pieces were submitted by teachers in grades kindergarten through 12. A panel of judges was convened at each school to choose pieces to be included in the publication. Each student recognized at the celebration received a complimentary copy of the District Anthology. Anyone interested in purchasing a copy of the anthology can contact Anne L. Rampey at Buffalo Elementary School at 429-1730, Ext. 26. The cost is $5.
