A native of Union County, he was the son of the late Wade Walker and Lucenda Walker. He was a member of the Union Church of Christ and a graduate of Sims High School.
Survivors include a daughter, Sherry Walker of Union; a brother Theodore J. Johnson of Philadelphia; four sisters, Gloria Johnson of Asheville, Gwen Logan of Hickory, Judy Jones of Union and Ruth Smith of Whitmire; and one grandson, Michael Edwards of Union.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the Union Church of Christ, 704 N. Duncan By-pass. Burial will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Sherry Walker, 132 Hillside Drive.
