Junior golfers will invade River Chase again this summer when the Little Legends Golf Clinic gets swinging.

The camp — sponsored by the South Carolina Junior Golf Association (SCJGA) — is intended for ages 6-12 and will introduce youth to the game of golf and the course in a laid back atmosphere.

The cost effective program develops a familiar and comfortable environment for juniors to learn, play and have fun with the game of golf.

The eight-week camp begins June 11 at 6 p.m. and will be held every Monday through Aug. 6.

Golf instructors will include Jordan Crumpton, AAA upperstate champion for Union County High, along with local SCJGA local coordinator Jamie Jeter.

Jeter said he is looking for dedicated golfing parents to serve as team coaches.

“We aren’t looking for professional instructors, just parents with some knowlege of the game and a willingness to chaperone and have fun with the kids,” said Jeter.

Team coaches will be responsible for helping teams come up with a team name, pace of play and scoring each week.

Entry fee for the camp is $50 and registration forms can be picked up at The Union Daily Times or Paradise Home Center. Deadline for entry is May 31.
