The Union County soccer team met up with Fort Mill, the number one ranked 3A team in the State, last night in the first round playoffs and were defeated 5-0.

“We played a hard game but the Fort Mill team was well disciplined and simply too much for us to handle,” said Coach Jeff Bell. “Our two seniors played their hearts out and led our team in a very respectful manner to finish out thier season.”

While they didn’t go as far as they’d have liked in postseason, the Jackets made school history with a second consecutive playoff bid. Never before has the soccer team made the playoffs two years in a row.

Saves: Jake Benfield 15, Trey Smith 5

Record: Final overall 4-9 (2-6 region)
