We hear a lot mentioned about the needs of our town, county, state, country, government, environment, world, and everything else under the sun. However it is rare to hear mentioned the needs of the local church. Sure we hear about the spiritual needs within the church but nothing is brought up about those needs outside the church walls. I believe that the majority of all needs could be met if the spiritual needs were met first. The need of the church is found in one word, Revival.

Revival is simply the refreshing, revitalizing, energizing, or stimulating of something that is alive just not awake or alert. I believe there are some good local churches that are “asleep,” that have lost direction, or no longer alert to the needs of 2012.

True revival is not a series of scheduled meetings. It is not something that an evangelist, singer, or preacher brings and delivers to the church. It can’t be sang up or pumped up. True revival is a supernatural work of God in His children’s lives.

When each member seeks after God, gets right with God, and desires a close walk with God, God will move in a church. God is not unable to move and bless in a church. He is very able. He is the same today as He has always been. He never changes. The same is needed today from His children for God to move as it was 1000 years ago. Repentance, humbleness, prayers, and seeking after God is essential, then God will hear, heal, and revive.

We are having a revival meeting at Victory Baptist Church. I am truly praying that this will be a true revival. I’m praying that people’s lives will be changed in Union and all the surrounding areas. I personally want to invite you to attend and worship our risen Savior with us. The dates are May 7-9 at 7 p.m. We will have gospel singing and preaching by Evangelist Milton Taylor. If you can’t be with us, please pray that the Lord will move again in the midst of His people and we will see revival in our land.

Tune in to WBCU 103.5 FM Sundays at noon for the Shining Light Broadcast. I preach a 15-minute message that I pray will be a blessing to those who listen. If you have a prayer concern, comment, or question, please write to: Voice of Victory, Attn: David Burrell, PO Box 1221, Pacolet, SC 29372, message me on Facebook, or e-mail me at daveburrell@live.com.
