Good food for a good cause will be on the menu at the Union Rotary Club’s second Low Country Boil Thursday evening.

During Tuesday’s Rotary Club meeting, Rotarian Scott Sandor said the Low County Boil or Frogmore Stew will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Shrine Club on SC 49 East. Sandor said Rotarians will be serving shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes as well as drinks during the Low Country Boil. The cost of admission to this feast is $25 and Sandor said tickets are still available from Rotary Club members.

“Anybody who is interested in attending should contact a member of the Rotary Club,” Sandor said.

While the food will not be served until 6:30 p.m., Sandor said there will be an hour of socializing starting at 5:30 p.m. He said drinks will be served during that time as well as during the Low Country Boil itself.

This the club’s second Low Country Boil which Sandor said is being held to raise funds for the local service projects supported by Rotary including Dixie Youth Baseball, the Summer Reading program, the Pottters House, Boy Scouts, and the 4-H Club. The club holds several fund raising events each year including its ongoing Aluminum Recycling Project.
