Jackets get solid wins in JV softball

The Lady Jackets JV softball team has been undefeated for the past two years and coach Mark Moss said he is looking to three-peat.

The team has gotten off to a good start, with a 12-0 six-inning win over York last week and wins over Nations Ford and Woodruff this week.

On Monday, the Jackets defeated Nations Ford,11-9. Payton Martin was the winning pitcher with six strikeouts.

On Wednesday, Union County ripped through Woodruff in a 23-0 shutout.

Hannah Sailors pitched a no-hitter for the Jackets, racking up nine strikeouts with just one walk.

Dexlie Inman and Karlie Lane led the Jackets offensively, both 3-4 at the plate.

Taylor Peahuff was 2-3 with a home run that came in the second inning.

Sailors helped herself at the plate, going 2-4 with a double.

Andi Nash was 2-3 and Alexis Mcgowan was 1-1 at the plate. Clarissa Hughes contributed a double and Satadra Hall and Connor Wicker were each 1-3.

“We’re looking forward to a good year,” said Moss.
