Dawkins defeated Sims' boys' basketball team 54-21 on Thursday.

Victor Ruth led Sims with nine points. Antonio Tucker had six points, Jordan Spencer added four and Keiston Smith had two.

"I thought we played well in spurts,” said coach Mitchell Moss. “Many will look at the scoreboard and say that's not possible, but we played with heart and passion."

Turnovers and rebounding hurt Sims (1-1).

“I know what we need to work on,” said Moss. “Spencer, Ruth and Tucker all took a charge. I was proud of the way we kept fighting. It's just one lose and we live to play another day."
