Ad campaign draws attention to dangers of distracted driving

Even though they think talking or texting on a cell phone is a traffic hazard, a majority of South Carolina drivers do it anyway.

AAA Carolinas has launched an ad campaign at more than 50 South Carolina gas stations to draw attention to the dangers of distracted driving, particularly the use of a cell phone while driving. The ads are on gas pumps in Greenville, Richland, Charleston, Horry and Beaufort counties. The counties were chosen because AAA Carolinas determined them to be the most dangerous counties in the state for crashes and injuries, per vehicle mile driven.
