Kids on Union Mill Hill looked forward for weeks to the fair coming to city park at the foot of Jail Hill, but not everybody was happy about it coming.
My grandfather, Will Wood, firmly believed when the fair or circus came, just down Blassengame Street from us, it was time to put the dogs up, and that included my dog “Bill.”
