Bonnie Louise Davis Bramlett, 73, wife of James Louis Bramlett Sr. of 213 Wilbur St., Union, died at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008.
Mrs. Bramlett was born Oct. 7, 1934, a daughter of the late Lucious Washington and Fannie Bell Brannon Davis. She had been employed with Oakmont Residential Center and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, James Bramlett Jr. and wife Barbara of Union; a daughter, Bonnie Brown and husband Dennis of Liberty, W. Va.,; five brothers, Roger Davis and wife Brenda, and Dennis Davis, all of Whitmire, Charles Davis and wife Frances, Paul Davis, and Otis Davis, all of Union; three sisters, Rebecca Turner and husband Noah, Bonita McGowan and husband Earl, Agnes Frost and husband Ronnie, all of Union; eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and very special friends Nell Baldwin and Melinda Thomas, both of Union.
Mrs. Bramlett was preceded in death by a brother, William Bruce Davis and two sisters, Evelyn Parham and Lottie Stoner.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. today, Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, at the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Walter Parham and the Rev. Kenny Weaver. Interment was in Rosemont Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Michael Turner, Billy Phillips, Pete McKeown, Rodney Davis, Pete Davis and Charlie Davis.
Honorary pallbearers were Mayhew Johnson, William Turner and Ronald Davis.
The family received friends Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, at the funeral home.
