JONESVILLE - Ruth B. Smith, 81, wife of Glenn E. Smith, of 818 Bob Little Road, Jonesville, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008 at Regional Hospice Home of Spartanburg.

Mrs. Smith was born in Canton, N.C., Dec. 27, 1926, a daughter of the late Henry and Ethel Puckett Bumgarner. She was retired from J.P. Stevens in Jonesville and was a member of Sulpher Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving in addition to her husband are five nieces, Rosalee Earley and husband James, and Angela Millwood, all of Jonesville, Betty Brown and husband Clifford of Union, Patsy Acksin and husband Frank of Mooresville, N.C., and Sue Witherspoon and husband Jim of Mayville, Mich.; six nephews, Richard Fuller, who was reared in the home, of Jonesville, Bobby Smith and wife Flora, Joe Smith, Larry Smith and wife Debra, Rickey Smith and wife Judy, all of Union, and Michael Smith and wife Sherry of Warren, Mich.; numerous great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by a sister, Rosalee Smith, and a niece, Barbara Smith.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. today, Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, at Sulpher Springs Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Ricky Cook.

The family is at the home, 818 Bob Little Road, Jonesville, S.C. 29353.
