BUFFALO - Beverly Kingsmore West, 67, widow of William Melvin West, of 239 South St., Buffalo, died Sunday Sept. 14, 2008 at her home.

Mrs. West was born in Union, July 25, 1941 a daughter of the late Carey and Ella Farmer Kingsmore. She was retired from United Merchants-Buffalo Mill and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, Lynn West and wife Nancy L. of Buffalo; two sisters, Edna Davis and Charlotte Ochiltree, both of Buffalo; two brothers, Glenn Kingsmore and Charles Kingsmore, both of Greenwood; a granddaughter, Brittany L. West and friend Jamie Sumner, both of Buffalo; a special friend, Larry Baldwin.

Mrs. West was predeceased by four sisters, Frances Burgess, Peggy Moore, Ella Mae Dallas and Margaret Willard; two brothers, Earl Kingsmore and Bobby Kingsmore.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at New Hope Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Johnny Burgess. Burial will be in Sulpher Springs Baptist Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Mrs. West's nephews.

The following are asked to assembly at the church at 2:45 Wednesday to form the honorary escort, Charles Ivey, Jimmy Ivey, Kenny Ivey, Alvin Ivey and Dennis Johnson.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7-9 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to New Hope Building Fund, 308 Linersville Road, Buffalo, S.C. 29321.

The family is at the home of her son, Lynn West, 3326 Mt. Lebonon Road, Buffalo, and at the home of her sister, Edna Davis, 135 Forest Meadow Ave. Buffalo, S.C. 29321.
