BUFFALO - Jack Ray, 79, formerly of 817 Flat Dr. Buffalo, husband of Elsie Ray, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008 at White Oak Manor of Spartanburg.
Mr. Ray was born Juy 16, 1929 in Buffalo, a son of the late Jesse Ray and Thelma Millwood Ray Martin. He was retired from Cone Mill, Carlisle Finishing Plant, and was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church. Mr. Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Melanie Ray of Spartanburg; a son, Stephen Ray and wife Regina, of Pacolet; a brother, Billy Ray of Myrtle Beach; four grandchildren, Heather Bobo, Nicklaus Bevis, Wil Ray, and Jesse Ray; three great-grandchildren, Hayley, Chase and Madelyne.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Tim Anderson.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 this evening, Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

The family is at the home of his granddaughter, 935 Katelyn Way, Bufffalo.
