LOCKHART - Residents are being advised to boil their water for the next two-three days following a break in the water line supplying the town.

Mayor Robert “Beaver” Canupp said that the water line running along Lockhart Drive broke around 3:30 a.m. cutting off the town from its water supply. Canupp said that while the town has managed to refill its water tank and restore service to a few customers most of the town is still without water. He said that repairs were underway and service restored some time this afternoon.

The break has raised the possibility of contamination and customers are being advised to boil their water before drinking or cooking with it. Canupp said that residents should do this for at least the next two-three days.

For more information about the boil water advisory contact the Lockhart Town Hall at 545-2103.
