Union 14 beats Harleyville

AIKEN - Union Dixie Boys 14-year-old All-Stars defeated Harleyville 14-4 in five innings on Tuesday.

Keamond Eison was the winning pitcher. Rashaad Green was 1-for-4; Jake Walton was 1-for-2 with two walks; Devontae Glenn was 1-for-3; Adam Gregory was 1-for-1; Dylan Rogers was 3-for-4; Dustin Payne was 3-for-4; and Eison was 1-for-2.

Union scored four runs in the first. Payne had two RBIs, Glenn and Rogers each had one.

The 14-year-olds added five runs in the second. Rogers had 2 RBIs, Glenn and Eison each had one. An error plated the other run.

Another run came off errors in the third.

In the fifth, Rogers had 2 RBIs, Rice and Payne each had one.

Union plays Aiken at 7 tonight and a win would send the team to the state championship game on Thursday.

13-year-old All-Stars

LEXINGTON - North Augusta defeated Union Dixie Boys 13-year-old All-Stars 11-4 on Tuesday. The loss eliminates Union from state championship contention.

“The boys played well and represented Union well,” said coach Phillip Arnold. “We had a quality group of people - players and coaches.”
