Robert Lewis Gray, 64, of Fairforest Apts., Union, died Monday, July 14, 2008 at Wallace Thomson Hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Lewis was born in Union Aug. 29, 1943, a son of the late Colie and Rosa Lee Gray. He was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church and attended Union County schools. He was a man with many talents and jobs all across the United States.
Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy L. Gray of Charlotte; a sister, Betty Jean Peake of Charlotte; three grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and a special friend, Audrey Parkins of Union.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny, Colie Jr., and James Gray; five sisters, Rozella Sims, Martha Mae Ruth, Lillie Belle Ruth, Sarah Ethel Harris and Mae Francis Stevens.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Bethesda Baptist Church by the Rev. Courtney Mills. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 until 7 p.m. today, Friday, July 18, 2008, at the funeral home.
The family is receiving friends at the home, 175 Colie Gray Road.
