The Union Public Safety Department is investigating a break-in reported Tuesday at a pre-owned car sales business.
Todd Scarborough of Todd's Auto on 734 North Duncan By-Pass told Officer Randy Canupp he came to work around 9 a.m. and noticed that a checkbook was missing from the desk. Two checks that had been made out to the business also were taken, along with around $200.
The back door had been forced open and a roll up door that had been locked was unlocked.
Man charged
William Allen Wallace, 35, of 120 Lukesville Road was charged this morning by the Union Public Safety Department with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature
A report said PSO David Lee was on patrol around 3 a.m. and noticed two cars off the road on top of the hill beside Food Lion at the Duncan By-Pass and Medical Sciences Drive. He noticed tire marks going up the hill. A woman said Wallace had rammed his 2006 Kia Spectra into the back of her 2003 Oldsmobile which caused her to lose control and made her jump the curb and go up the hill.
Lee noted damage to the front of the Kia and damage to the back of the Oldsmobile.
Wallace admitted to ramming the car. He is being held in the Union County Jail; bond had not been set for him this morning.
Theft
On 102 Knuckles St., a woman told Cpl. Scott Farr Tuesday that someone stole an air conditioner from her living room window. It is worth $150.
