Someone broke into a Union hair salon and stole tools and money.
The owner of Unique Images on 225 West Main St. told Officer Curtis Eubanks with the public safety department she came to work Friday morning and found the break-in. A glass was broken to gain entry. Inside, someone dumped drawers and storage bins into the floor. Missing are change and edgers. A hair dryer worth $600 was destroyed. An investigation is continuing.
Stolen items
On 221 South Gadberry St., a Union woman told Sgt. Larry Robinson Friday that someone took her laptop computer worth $2,700 from her car.
Saturday, a man on 110 South Duncan By-Pass told Officer David Lee that someone took two metal sinks and a stand up two-door freezer from his yard. This are worth $900.
Friday on 228 Lee Cemetery Road, a man told Deputy Randy Manus with the Union County Sheriff's Office that someone came into his yard and took two metal racks used to store wood. These are worth $60. A neighbor reported seeing a green pickup come to the residence that may have been involved in the theft
At the South Hills Softball Complex, a worker with the Union County Recreation Department told Sgt. Dee Haney Friday that someone cut three locks off the door of the food stand and took chips, pickled sausages and Pepsis. The sausages later were found in a dugout at the first field. The food taken was worth around $50 and damage was estimated at $50.
On 113 Deerpoint Road, a victim reported Friday to Manus and Lt. Robbie Hines that someone stole an air conditioner worth $2,000. A suspect was named in this case.
