A Union man faces drug charges in two cases that occurred earlier this year.
Kevin Todd Smith, 20, of 133 Baber St., was charged by the Union County Sheriff's Office with distribution of marijuana within one-half mile of a school or park and distribution of marijuana. He was charged by the Union Public Safety Department with conspiracy to distribute marijuana.
According to the sheriff's office report, Lt. John Sherfield met with an operative on Jan. 13 and provided the operative with $40 to purchase drugs. The operative called Joshua Keith Price on his cell phone and they agreed to meet in the West Towne Plaza parking lot.
Price arrived with Smith driving the vehicle. The operative got into the car with them. He got the marijuana from Smith but paid Price for it. The sale occurred within one-half mile of Union County Stadium.
Smith's public safety department case stemmed from a case made on Jan. 14 when he and Price sold marijuana to an undercover informant. That warrant was signed by Investigator Mickey Parker.
Price was arrested on March 18 and faces the same charges as Smith.
