A Union teen-ager is accused of breaking into two area car washes.

Bradley Scott Breakfield, 17, of 105 North Enterprise St., was charged Monday by the Union Public Safety Department with two counts of second-degree burglary and two counts of petit larceny. Breakfield was 16 when the crimes occurred, but he turned 17 on April 29 and has been charged as an adult, Chief Sam White said.

According to arrest warrants signed by Investigator Brian Bailey, Breakfield is accused of breaking into A&O Car wash on 300 North Pinckney St. on March 27 and of breaking into Greer's Car wash on 110 North Duncan By-Pass on April 2. Money was taken in both burglaries.

Man with a gun

Officers were called to 108 Carson St. around 9:25 p.m. Monday after a woman reported that a man she did not know came into her house with a gun.

The woman said she heard a knock on the door. She told her friend who was there to see who it was. The friend went into the hall and saw a light-skinned black man there. He said the man pulled a gun and pointed it at his forehead.

The woman said the man with the gun told her not to call anyone, so she threw the phone she had in her hand. He picked up the phone and left.

Several other black men were in the yard and they all left in a small dark-colored car. The woman said the vehicle could have been a Toyota Camry and had dark tinted windows. The men were 20 to 30 years old.

The victim asked Officer Eddie Williams to take her and her friend to another house because she was scared and had no phone or transportation.

An investigation is continuing.
